A collaboration with Museo Nacional de los Ferrocarriles Mexicanos and MUNA Arquitectura Colaborativa, this virtual exhibition was created to give exposure to Mexican photographers and print artists during the Covid-19 pandemic.
A virtual art exhibition presents unique challenges compared to traditional physical exhibitions, and we wanted to make sure we met those challenges head-on. Accessibility, technical implementation, artwork presentation, and engagement and interaction were our biggest concerns.
We wanted to make sure the presentation was accessible and easy to understand but was unique and fun to interact with. In collaboration with another artist, we developed a site navigation and a design philosophy based on testing and iteration. I extended the aesthetic of the artists' work to the design of the site, while ensuring artworks were accurately represented online, including color fidelity and texture.
I worked directly with some of the artists to help curate this collection of work which included photography, linography, siligraphy, estching, and mezzotint. I did the coding to create a user-friendly and visually appealing virtual platform that effectively showcased the artworks. I was key throughout the marketing and promotion process, creating promotional graphics for the exhibition conference.
