Places + Perspectives

A cutting-edge, student-run documentary collaboration

Places + Perspectives is a remote collaboration between University of California, San Diego undergraduates and graduate students at Keio University in Tokyo. The two groups of students used teleconferencing once a week to plan and discuss the direction of the project.

Using new technologies from NTT Network Innovation Laboratories, Pacific Interface and PIX Systems, teams communicated ideas, videos and revisions from San Diego to Toyko. I was a San Diego project lead and helped my team of students in sharing, producing, and editing the documentary.

Created for the Cinegrid Exchange in cooporation with Calit2 and Jacobs School of Engineering. Screened at Tokyo International Film Festival.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Cooperated closely with academic advisors and techology partners to facilitate the goals of the project.
  • A Project lead involved with planning, shooting and editing.
  • Presented at the Calit2 event showcasing the technologies and processes used to collaborate.
  • Created motion graphics and titles for final product.
  • Worked with musicians to source original music for the project.
